So last night at 8:30pm I heard a knock at my door and it was my neighbor with two half dead little kittens for me. I apparently am the cat lady now lol
They were in bad shape, nothing but bones. When they handed me the first one I thought it was already dead by how listless its body was. I didn't think that one was going to make it through the night at first.
When you pet them and all you can feel is their spine it breaks your heart. They were covered in dirt and burs. Like every inch of their fur was tangled in burs that I had to pick out. It took forever and was probably good that they had no energy because it was not fun pulling them out :( But I bet they feel alot better now.
I was afraid my husband would be mad at me for taking them in. I just could not tell them no when they were in such bad shape.
But right away he was amazing, comforted me because I was in panic mode with worry over them. And he told me to stay with the kittens while he ran to the store to buy formula. awww. He also named them...Hope & Faith. I think one might be a boy though lol. One is black & the other is a diluted calico. Very adorable.
I am not sure what I am going to do with them right now. I texted my contact at the shelter last night and they said they would take them but I am not sure if they will at this age. I am assuming 3-4 weeks. I guess I may need to foster them until they are old enough. Not sure how my husband will feel about that.
It kindof puts a ? on today's plans though. We were supposed to drive down to my inlaws, who are about an hour and a half away, and spend the day doing a cookout and seeing family.
The kittens need to be fed about every 3-4 hours. So either I stay home...which I haven't been able to go visit them in a while because last time they had a get together I had foster kittens then too. Or I take the kittens with us. I will see what DH thinks I guess.
I spent all day yesterday baking zucchini mini bread loafs & mini muffins. One flavor is chocolate & walnut & the other is blueberry. They both rock too! I wanted to bring them to the cookout.

Yay for dogs!
I woke up at 5am this morning. I wasn't feeling very good. Had a small binge last night meh. My routine gets messed up and I do things like that. :( I'm disappointed in myself. But all I can do is take it one day at a time. Today will be a better brighter day.
I took a walk this morning. It was just a mile but it was nice. Just a slight chill this morning but lovely out. Still working on the leash walking with my dog Trixie. Having to stop and correct her again and again makes the walk slower, but I am still moving. She does pretty well honestly. She will stop and sit if I stop almost always now, I can call her back to a heal position. She just gets excited and starts pulling. Honestly I just walk too slow for her lol! It makes me feel bad.
I think I may take my walk farther and work on 1.5 miles starting tomorrow, then keep increasing it as the weeks go on.
I do have one really bright point to share. During my walk I started having a panic attack. My legs were getting alittle bit sore, up hill walking meh. I always start to panic right about that point. And it really sucks because I feel like I can't catch my breath, that I can't breathe, my chest tightens. And trying to walk and feel like that makes the walk 300% harder.
But this time I actually used my dog to help me. I knelt down and told her the command and she nuzzled me with her head. It let me catch my breath, relax and calm down. The rest of the walk was much better.
So I am thankful for that.
I am dropping my foster kittens off today with the rescue so they can go to the vet and have some promising homes look at them! I hope they get adopted. They are amazing little kittens, so deserving of great homes.
I made chicken fajitas for dinner. I have never tried cooking something like that before and am really proud of myself. It turned out great. I cut up all the peppers & onions. My DH teased me at how I was making cutting a pepper far too complicated and he showed me how to cut it the right way :) I then cut up chicken and seasoned it with garlic & mesquite spices. My sister in law had explained how to do it & that I needed a very hot pan and I think that helped the most. They were really yummy. Had them with just alittle bit of cheese and whole wheat tortillas.
I am also really proud of myself because I have been drinking lots of water now. I need to buy another water bottle and I also need to get some hand weights really bad.
Tomorrow is my weigh in day. I hope it goes as well as I am hoping it does!

Baby Steps...
I have been feeling exhausted. Like just run down wanting to pass out tired. I have just been going alot more then normal, had a few very bad sleep nights at the start of the week and changing my diet. I think it is just alot at once. So today I just took a lazy day to kindof recharge my batteries and catch up on sleep. Perhaps it would have been best to push through it but I am ok with taking a day to just fall back on. At this point it is far better for me to rest a smidge and get back into action tomorrow then it is to overwhelm myself, push to hard and fall apart.
It is all about taking baby steps.
Speaking of baby steps I am doing a bit better diet wise. My main goal right now is to just eat better & I am. I have veggies & fruit and just some healthier choices all around. My portions are still a bit off. I am still struggling with eating meals vs grazing all day long. And I know some people can graze and do well but for me I eat junk and way too much of it doing that.
I made this amazingly delicious recipe for lunch today. Avocado Chicken Salad. I discovered it on Pinterest which is my go to food find site. I am so lured in by how something looks. I was a bit wary to try it because I always am with something new. But OMG. Just OMG! It was sooo yummy.
It is avocado, chicken breast, lime juice, green onion, instead of mayo (eww) I used greek yogurt. I can totally throw it on bread but decided I would eat it in a salad. I threw some Spring Greens & romaine, grape tomatoes, and just a smidge of tortilla strips. It was so good. And since I didn't use salad dressing (as I only like ranch) it was already way healthier. Plus all the good fats & protein. I am feeling great.
Dinner tonight is iffy because DH works a bit later then normal & he may just take a nap as soon as he gets home until we raid tonight. Yeah we play World of Warcraft together! I was planning on making this neat sausage & pasta recipe that I haven't tried before but that looks easy & yummy. Or I may just go even simpler and just have like eggs.
